Keep That Galley Clean
Here are some suggestions to help even the most proficient galley boss keep things in ship shape.

Have a cleaning tip? Send it in to: info@firetimes.com.

Cleaning those nasty burnt pans.
An effective way to get even the most stubborn burns out of your favorite pans is by placing a single sheet of fabric softener in the pan half filled with water and heat until water boils. Lower heat to medium and let sit for an hour. Pan should scrub clean with very little effort.

Controlling odors in refrigeration units.
Placing a slightly opened box of baking soda in a corner of the refrigerator will control most odors for up to a month. Simply replace box as needed to keep refrigeration units smelling neutral.

Garbage disposal maintenance.
By intermittently running eggshells and orange or other citrus peels through your kitchen sink garbage disposal you can keep the blades sharp and control odors.
